Program I: Language/ Literacy Program

With this project we aim to provide language and literacy skills to individuals, the older and underprivileged community of Haitians living in the United States and Haiti. OJP Foundation, Inc. accomplishes this goal by encouraging competency in English, reading, writing and basic arithmetic. This unique literacy skills training program is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level employment as well as help those looking to upgrade their basic business skills.

The purpose of this program is to develop the language competency skills and literacy training to help these individuals to better understand the different aspects of the work environment and ensures that all those in the program become useful and productive members of society, regardless of their background to be sustainable and financially independent.

Program Administrator: OJP Foundation, Inc. Officers, Board of Directors and Volunteers. Implementation Date: This program is implemented and language and literacy skills training are available during the summer, fall and winter months. The organization spends 40% percent of the time ensuring the successful outcome of these activities. This program is funded with donations from individuals and local businesses.
